After using full frame sensor (Canon 5 Series and after that Sony A7 Series) for over 10 years I thought it would be time to check that MFT System so many people are talking about with pretty big enthusiasm. Now firstly I wanted to get my hands on GH5, but then Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K came out, and a couple of months later came update with Blackmagic RAW. And all of this goodnes for only 1367 Euro, with additional software package worth of 300 euro (Davinci Resolve Studio). We are talking about 13,1 steps of dynamic range in 12 bit raw 4K DCI at 60fps – holly molly, that would be a giant step forward regarding the possibility in post compared to 8bit of Sony A7.
And I wasn’t dissapointed. The very first shots I loaded into Resolve on my new Razer Blade 15 filled me with endless joy – at least I can manipulate videos in similar fashion as my photos. Yes, the dream came true, and here you can watch my very first shots and edits of Blacmagic Pocket Cinema 4K.
